General,

Are you ready to leave ugly ERP for beautiful SaaS

Increasingly, more organisations are migrating from on premise ERP systems to SaaS platforms. On  the other had, IaaS utilisation is down from 45% to 28% (according to Cisco survey) ! So why the spike in SaaS utilisation and drop in IaaS?

The answer is value. Most organisation recognise value in SaaS adoption. It is easier to adopt, less hassle (minimal operation/upgrades) and more cost effective than the existing expensive rigid ERP systems alternatives on premise.

Most of the clients I have worked with, are happy with decision to migrate to SaaS. To them, it is freedom from what is often seen as aggressive greedy ERP vendors.

With that said, I must caution, that the path to SaaS is not “Easy Street”! You need proper assessment and planning before attempting migration. How will you govern and secure the data. What if things go wrong with service provider, do you have an exit strategy? Are there any compliance requirements you need to enforce such as data residency for example?

With proper planning, the pay off of SaaS migration, can be significant.

Are you ready to take that step?

Thank you for reading.

Nick
