How to retrieve the contents of VM hard drives in vCloud?

I will answer a common question I get often about retriving VM’s contents in vCloud. The question usually is phrased this way:

• Is there anyway way we can retrieve the contents of the hard drives of the virtual machines?
• Can you copy the VM harddisk to usb disk?

The simple answer is to to add the vApp containing the VMs you want copied, to a catalogue and then right click and download.
